Pinnacle Foundation Scholarships

The Pinnacle Foundation provides Scholarships to help 16-24-year-old Australian LGBT+ students undertaking full-time education at a public or private secondary school (final year) or public institution of higher education in Australia.

The Pippa Downes scholarship provides $5,000 for the first year of tertiary studies and $3,000 for subsequent years for an athlete competing or training at the national level, or identified as high potential talent in their sport, whilst pursuing full-time study.

“I want to help athletes achieve their full athletic and academic potential, and I understand being gay presents its own set of challenges to reaching this potential.”

Pippa personally understands the challenges of achieving in the sporting and academic arenas, having represented Australia in Swimming and Hong Kong in the International Rugby Sevens as completing a Master’s in Applied Finance from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Science (Business Administration) From the University of California, Berkley.

The Pinnacle Foundation also matches its scholars with mentors who provide invaluable support and guidance that can be especially important in helping LGBT+ young people in overcoming disadvantage and the impacts of discrimination.

Applications are due by the 1 October – so don’t delay!
