The Winner Takes it ALL AGAIN..!!

Equestrian Victoria were again the hosts for what is the most prestigious event on the Show Horse Calendar, the Australasian Show Horse & Rider Championships held at Werribee Victoria on the first weekend in December.

The ENSW HOTY held in March at Sydney International Equestrian Centre was the qualifying show for the New South Wales contingent to represent at the Nationals. Both Winners and Runner-ups were welcomed to compete, and in the circumstances that neither were able to, then the third place getter was invited resulting in a great response and some tough competition from the NSW competitors.

Day 1 of competition was a great success for the NSW team:-

  • At his first show Ethan Burgess finished in the top 7 (=4th without re-scores) aboard his Koorana Royal Sensation accompanied by Rhys Stones in the Leading Rein Pony ne 12hh Championship.
  • Jess Stalling again riding the well performed Melody Park Heavenly Pearl for Sascha Parker-Eade were sashed Runner Up in the Large Show Hunter Pony over 13hh & ne 14hh Championship.
  • No placings in the Small Pony ne 12hh Championship, it was great to see Sascha & Charlotte completing beautiful workouts.
  • Tyler Kelly rode beautifully aboard his ever reliable Lawlington Park Rendition to be sashed Runner up in the Junior Rider 12 years and under Championship.  Ella Parish, at her first Nationals enjoyed the experience.
  • Robbanie Chart Topper went one better this year for Belinda Sibley, ridden by the talented Trinette Crawford, was declared Champion Medium Pony over 12hh & ne 13hh.  Bamborough Mistral did a great workout before heading back to compete at the Victorian All Welsh.
  • Kasey Curral, riding mum Natalie’s Tamlyn Farm Tobias claimed 3rd place in the Medium Show Hunter Pony.  Mikayla Towers did a great job riding Iona Park Melody.
  • Our Large Pony’s both worked well finishing just out of the placing. Robannie Mister Squiggle finishing 4th before the re-scores and the young Dirigeree Park Royal Affair doing our sponsor’s Ford Civil (Lisa Ford) proud with a great workout.
  • Liz Daly’s ponies worked a treat for their young riders in the Small Show Hunter Pony ne 12hh Championship. Bamborough Prunella finishing 4th.
  • Intermediate Rider 15 to 17 years Championship saw Carlie Elfar and her Famous being sashed 3rd.  Tess O’Connor rode beautifully aboard her ever faithful Falsta D.

The second and final day of competition saw some further fantastic results:-

  • First class of the day saw Jessica Gacki-O’Sullivan riding her Wesswood the Boyfriend being Sashed Champion in the Intermediate Rider 12 to 14 years Championship.  Lillian Mills rode beautifully after a last minute mount change.  We missed ‘The King’ this year, he was watching over his team mates.
  • Jess Stalling’s super day started in the Small Show Hunter Galloway with Brae Digney’s Royal Queen of Sefton being sashed Champion.  Belinda Williams finished 4th after re-score for =3rd riding her Congarinni BMW.
  • Small Galloway over 14hh & ne 14.2hh Championship saw both our galloways in the presentation.  Hunter Taylor riding his Willowcroft Coco Chanel being sashed runner up & Merivale Royal Windsor with Jess Stalling aboard were sashed 3rd place for Jodi Christoffersen.

The entire NSW Show Horse team are to be commended, representing their state proudly throughout the duration of the competition.

The ENSW Show Horse Committee would like to take this opportunity to congratulate not only the winners and place getters, but indeed the whole team and their supporters for showing great team spirit and respect to fellow competitors and officials. You all did the state proud and we look forward to future team successes at the next National Championships in 2016.

Enjoy the holiday season and best wishes for a safe and happy Christmas.
