ACTIVE KIDS PROGRAM

The NSW Government will allocate $207 million over four years to establish Active Kids to help NSW families meet the cost of getting their kids into sport and active fitness and recreation activities.

The initiative aims to reduce barriers to participation and help change the physical activity behaviours of children and young people in NSW. In 2018, the NSW Government will provide $100 through a voucher system to parents/guardians/carers to contribute to the cost of their children’s participation in sport and active recreation.  The voucher can be redeemed towards payment of memberships or fees with an approved provider registered with the Active Kids program, each calendar year.

Who is eligible to claim the voucher?
Every child (4.5 - 18 years’ old) enrolled in school from Kindergarten to Year 12 is eligible. This includes those who are home-schooled or enrolled in secondary school education at TAFE NSW. The program is not means tested.

One voucher will be available for every child in the family annually over the next four years.

How long are vouchers valid?
The voucher can be used at any time during the calendar year it was issued. It will be valid from 31 January 2018 through to 31 December 2018. Vouchers can only be used once (if the chosen activity fees are less than $100, then the remaining balance cannot be used). Families can apply for a voucher at any time.

What can the voucher be used for?

The voucher can be redeemed against your Equestrian NSW membership fees. It will assist with the payment of any new Competitor Junior members who join and also all Competitive Junior members who renew their membership for the 2018-2019 membership year. Only one voucher can be redeemed per year.

What can’t the voucher be used for?
Vouchers cannot be used for individual items like clothing, socks, boots or equipment that are not part of the membership fees.

Vouchers cannot be used more than once and will only be redeemed against the Equestrian NSW membership. Please note that vouchers cannot be split between multiple clubs or registrations, and therefore you may not be able to claim the full $100. i.e. If you join at a reduced rate and the amount is under $100 you will not receive a refund for the difference.

How do you download a voucher?
Parents, guardians and carers can apply for an Active Kids voucher through Service NSW. You will need the student’s Medicare card details to complete the transaction.
What information is required to apply for a voucher?

• You will need to have or create a MyServiceNSW account to apply for the voucher.

• You will need to provide your contact details when registering for a MyServiceNSW account.
